What exactly is the Gramtech App?

- Gramtech is a mobile app that uses conversational artificial intelligence to allow seniors to speak out a question related to smartphone functionalities

- The app then fetches a short video tutorial from the Gramtech.com website or its YouTube channel based on the question asked to teach the concept. We are also considering audio instructions after interviewing target audience members

​

- The learning material is created by young adults and teenagers who want to make a positive difference to the senior community, as well as the Gramtech team

​

- The application will also have a course with a structured list of videos for senior citizens who wish to learn from scratch

​

- Depending on the uptake, the topics can go beyond smartphone functionalities and can train them to do financial transactions and online shopping

 

- Our project will be a value-add in the area of organized senior citizen assistance centers as well. Currently, assisted living and nursing homes focus on occupational, speech, or physiotherapy. My project focuses on improving mental health through technology, filling an overlooked gap

- Experiments with a cohort of senior citizens have proven that these short video tutorials are effective in teaching them how to use smartphones, and surveys conducted have shown support for a solution like this from both senior citizens and young adults

- What makes Gramtech’s videos unique is that they are easy to follow, simple to understand, and cover ALL functionalities of a phone, and a solution like this exists nowhere in the world today.
